NOTD: China Glaze Techno

Good Morning Everyone, today we have a nail of the day post of glitter! I definitely have a soft spot for glitter, it is just a fun way to dress up your nails.

This glitter shade is from China Glaze, called “Techno”, and was released with their Electro Pop Collection in Spring of 2012. It is a clear base with mostly silver chunky glitter, which some of them reflect different shades. This polish retails for approximately $6.99 CAD and is available at Sally Beauty Supply (keep in mind it was limited edition, so you may have some trouble finding it there, but look on eBay if your interested.) There are a few fine silver glitter flakes within the polish, but for the most part it is pretty sparse.

I personally use this shade as a topcoat, and in this photo it is layered over Orly Powder Puff. I think it is a fun way to dress up a fairly neutral creme polish, and I definitely love it over this shade. I would rate this polish a 5/5. When it comes to glitter polish you cannot expect it to be completely opaque, and in my opinion it is nice to have one that leaves parts of the base coat showing. This polish is everything I expected it to be and I love it!

I hope you all are having a great day so far!
– Jaimie

NOTD: Orly Powder Puff

Hey Everyone, I hope you all are having a great start to the week. Today I have photos of the shade “Powder Puff” by Orly. This is a permanent shade in the Orly collection, and it is available at Sally’s Beauty Supply in Canada, retailing for about $7.99 CAD.

This has the be one of my favourite nude shades. It does take about three to four coats to get this polish completely opaque, but the outcome is beautiful. It is an almost white, light pink toned sheer shade with no shimmer. Overall I would rate this shade about a 4/5, only docking a point due to how many layers it takes to get maximum pigmentation. That is all for today, come back tomorrow for my new video on my January Beauty Favourites!

I hope you all have a great day!

NOTD: Ciate Power Dressing

Ciate Power Dressing

Ciate Power Dressing

Happy Sunday Everyone! This Nail of the Day is featuring a Ciate Mini Polish, which was included in the Ciate Mini Mani Month that was released last fall. This is also a permanent colour is the Ciate Paint Pot Polish line. You can purchase it at either The Bay or Sephora in Canada for about $15 CAD.

This polish did not apply as smoothly as I hoped. It was quite streaky, and sheer, and even with three coats it was not applied perfectly. I do appreciate the beautiful royal blue shade though, and it did compliment my skin tone very nicely.

Overall I would rate this polish a 3/5. The colour is not terribly unique, and it did not apply very well. I do not think it is worth the $15 CAD that it retails for, but it was nice to receive a small size to try.

I hope you all have a great week!

The New Black Runway Set

The New Black released a nail polish set containing eight different polishes, last year. This set retails for $35 CAD on the Sephora website, and I found this set at Winners for only $11 CAD. If you are at all interested in this palette I would definitely recommend checking out for local discount store for the set.

4

All of the polishes in this set are mini sized and are of all different colours. You have your brights, a neutral and even a dark hue. I know I am going to get much use out of this set in the summer time, when I like to wear lots of red and coral shades. All of the polish’s finishes are either a creme or a light shimmer, there are no heavy glitters included.

I do not think I would purchase this set at full price, as I do not think the colours are unique enough to be worth $35 CAD. I do, however, think that this set is definitely worth the $11 CAD, that I paid for it. I would rate this product a 4/5. If you are interested in seeing swatches feel free to let me know and I will include them.

I hope you all are having a great day!

NOTD: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

Pacific Blue

Pacific Blue

The line of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes are a great quality for such a great price point. They have good lasting power, great formula, and a beautiful selection of colours.

The shade “Pacific Blue” is definitely a cult favourite throughout the online beauty community. This is for good reason, this colour is unlike any other nail polish that I own. It is a borderline neon blue shade, which is great for any season.

Overall I would give this polish a 5/5, I have worn it several times and have never been disappointed in it. I wear this polish a lot in the winter time because it is a beautiful icy, pop of colour for the cold months.

I hope you all are having a great day!

*New Video* Ciate Velvet Manicure – Cabaret

The Ciate Velvet Manicure is a fun, and trendy nail product. If you are interested in trying our something new for your nails I would definitely recommend this. If you are curious about it and would rather not spend the $19 CAD that is costs, you could also attempt it yourself by finding similar products at a craft store. NOTD: Sation Tardy Tart

Sation Tardy Tart

Sation Tardy Tart

Sation’s “Tardy Tart” is a beautiful electric purple shade. It is definitely a bright polish, I would say bordering on neon. I have never seen Sation polishes readily available in salons, or drugstores. I found this one at Winners (which is equivalent to TJ Maxx or Ross in the US) at the price of $3.99 CAD. I found this polish applied well and only needed one coat. I would definitely recommend this product and I would give it a rating of 5/5, I have absolutely no complaints about this polish. I loved this one.

I hope you all are having a wonderful day!
